Honor X8 5G announced with 480+ SD and 48MP main camera

Honor rather discreetly presented the Honor X8 5G smartphone, which is supposed to be the 5G version of the Honor X8 already released from March this year. However, there is more than just support for 5G connectivity. For starters, the new X8 5G has a smaller 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The Snapdragon 680 SoC has been replaced by a Snapdragon 480+, which is oddly a more powerful alternative, despite its older manufacturing process and lower clock speeds. Memory options are limited to just one – 6GB/128GB. Honor had to cut some corners to keep the price down, so the 64MP main camera was replaced with a 48MP f/1.8 and the 5MP ultrawide shooter is left. Now, the X8 5G only has a 2MP macro shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. Selfie has also been downgraded to 8MP f/2.0. Honor X8 5G in Midnight Black and Ocean Blue A 5,000mAh battery keeps the lights on, supporting up to 22.5W fast charging, while available colors are Ocean Blue and Midnight Black. Unfortunately, there is no pricing and availability information at this time. Source
